ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS:

FORD COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION:
meets second Thursday
granted by Zoning Board of Appeals upon recommendation of the Planning Commission after a public meeting (County Board not involved in conditional use process). A LESA study performed by the Soil & Water Conservation District (S&WCD) may be required when agricultural land is involved.

VARIANCE & EXCEPTIONS:
granted by the Zoning Board of Appeals after a public meeting (Planning Commission & County Board not involved in variance procedure). (See Variances and Exceptions handout)

- Planning Commission hears the amendment (2nd Thursday)
- Zoning Board of Appeals conducts public hearing after receiving recommendation from the Planning Commission (1st Tuesday)

$100.00 for Conditional Use, Special Use & zoning amendment or $75.00 for Variance in addition to fee for any required construction permits. S&WCD charges a fee for LESA study.
